Falcon® Anchored Solutions
North American Green is proud to provide Falcon Anchors & Pins, providing securing hardware for Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs), High Performance TRMS (HPTRMs) and transition mats.
The Falcon® Percussion Driven Anchors (PDAs) are designed to provide immediate stabilization with their unique design. Supplied in combinations of terminations and cable lengths, the Falcon anchors are pre-assembled and specific to the project requirements and geotechnical conditions, ensuring considerable time and labor savings.
Anchor assemblies consist of four primary components:
- ANCHOR: The anchor component is driven into the soil developing resistance to pullout. The size and drive depth effect the pullout resistance of the anchor.
- TOP TERMINATION: Grips the ground surface and fabric to secure in place. The size of the top termination can affect the ability to hold the soil matrix. Apertures allows for vegetation establishment.
- TENDON: Connects the anchor and the top termination. Available in galvanized steel or stainless steel, the tendon is a critical piece for long-term performance.
- GRIP: The grip is housed in the top termination and secures the tendon in the top termination.
Falcon Hex Pin Technology
The Falcon pin is an innovative fastener providing significantly greater pullout resistance than typical straight pins or staples. The greater pullout improves performance in soft, sandy soils to compact and rocky soils, allowing in some instances better tie down of permanent RECPs compared to more costly hardware systems. Using a hand drill and a 1.5" hex socket or specialized chuck, installing Falcon Hex pins are quick and easy.
Falcon Hex pins come in three variants, each with two length configurations. The HS-8" and HS-12" are designed for soft, sandy soils and the HC-8" and HC-12" are optimized for compact, clay soils, and the HR-8" and HR-12" are utilized in hard, rocky soils.
